El Azteca Mexican Restaurante in Ashland

I did not care for the food. It wasn't terrible just wasn't what I'm used to from other similar establishments.

The food was delicious! My wife & I went for dinner and the waiter was awesome! He stopped by our table often to ensure we were taken care of and he answered all of our questions about the menu without having to ask someone else. We will definitely be back!

By far the best Mexican restraunt if you are in the Ashland area, this place has tons of varietys to choose from, I ordered the chimichangas which were delicious, if you do order a dessert, I recommend the churros which were probably the best churros ive ever had in a Mexican restraunt, the restraunt ambiance had a mexico feel as well, the staff could have been a little bit more friendly but they were helpful and our food came at a good hour, overall I will return if I am in the area of ashland again

Good food and fast, friendly service keep me coming back to El Azteca. Popular with locals and travelers alike, it can be very busy but I've never had to wait long for a table. The menu offers a wide of traditional Mexican dishes and house specials at good prices.

Wonderful as always. Had to get my grande margarita to go with my meal. Love that they always welcome my kids like their own.

I have driven by this place for a year, and I reget not going in. My wife wanted to go and IT WAS WONDERFUL. We got 2 versions of fajitas and everything was tender and flavorful. Service is warm and kind. Will be back.

The staff was fast , food in 10 minutes. The tamales were sub-par. Everything else was delicious. The churros were spectacular, the filling is amazing and the sauce is just right.

Awesome food good price good service

Just placed a take out order, got home and half our order was wrong. Yes we should have checked It before we left, but didn’t. Very disappointed. We were trying to order form a small business instead of a chain to be supportive durning this chaos, and sadly this was not a smart move. $55 wasted.Called to let them know it was wrong and the man tried to tell me it wasn’t ordered the way I described... which is BS because we even wrote the order down! Only admitted to giving us the wrong salsa (that we paid $5 for!) This is only the second time we’ve been here and will definitely not be going back.

We've been eating at El Azteca for nearly 20 years. Easy place to love. My wife could live on the chips and salsa alone. Great fajitas and tacos de carne asada. If you're lucky you have leftovers. Bonus goodness

The food was great! I've eaten here three times and every time the food never disappoints! The service was good also. Some of the staff weren't so friendly towards us. Our waiter was very kind, but unfortunately didn't speak English very well. But it is a great place to eat!

Heading south on 95 we had a hankering for Mexican food and El Azteca didn't disappoint. With all the quick serve chain restaurants along the corridor you have to try a little to find places that actually cook their own food. Leaning a little more towards the authentic side we were pleasantly surprised. Great food and portions big enough for leftovers we definitely keep an eye out the next time we come through.

The best food you can eat. Service is amazing. You won't regret it. Prices aren't that high. But will most likely be returning every time I come to Virginia.

Waited a long time to order. Yes they were kinda busy, but never did our server said hi or be with you shortly We ordered and food came out too quick.Yep microwave heated.. plate was hot, food Luke warm. Lacked any true flavor in it.I guess next time we will try the other place..

Very good place to eat, the fajita for 2 is very big and delicious but is an all around good place,the food came quick and service was great.

Always The Best!

My family and I have been going to El Azteca for well over a decade now. Everyone is always so incredibly nice and the longest I have ever had to wait for my food was 20 minutes on a Friday at 630, their peak time. I have never had anything bad there, their tacos are some of the best in Richmond. Great job guys!

Mediocre for years.... But, no more! Would fight coming here. They must have changed cooks or something. The beans are really, really good. The agua frescas melon is a tad sweet....but, oh so good!!! I would not think a mushroom quesadilla would be good, let alone noteworthy, but.... WOW!! I will be coming back ASAP to get another one. Incredibly savory and flavorful.

Service wasn't to good. And food is watery and flavorless as you can see the cheese is mostly water. Wouldn't recommend to a friend.

Surprisingly good. As good as Mexican food gets. Very friendly staff. Pitcher beer. Good atmosphere. Excellent prices. Sizzling HOT fajitas. Greet them with, "Buenos nachos". They get the joke. Highly recommend. 10 stars
